About Me


Debbie Mathew has worked a Cognitive Behavioral for 12 years and has been accredited with the BABCP for 10yrs. She has undertaken intensive specialist CBT training at The Maudsley Hospital Centre for Anxiety Disorders &Trauma/ Institute of Psychiatry where she gained a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy. She also has a Post graduate Diploma Cognitive Psychotherapy from Southampton University for Severe Mental Health Problems enabling her to also work with more complex conditions, such as psychosis and personality issues.

Debbie has a wealth of experience of working with clients with all types of anxiety disorders, depression, and low self esteem. She has also worked extensively with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Patients, as well as Chronic Pain, and has interest in the psychological impact of physical health problems.  Debbie currently also works part time in the NHS delivering CBT in primary care for medical training purposes, and she also teaches CBT to undergraduate medical students. Prior to her career in psychotherapy Debbie worked as a Psychiatric Nurse both in hospital and community patient settings.
